You Will Taste My Blood

Phillip J Rhoades
‎"You will taste blood"

You tore it out
And you want to comfort me
But if you a kiss me now
You will taste my blood

You broke it
My heart is dead flesh
And all the wires you attach
All the batteries that leak
Acid
Won't start me up again

You tore it out
Don't comfort me
You broke it
And you will taste blood
If you kiss me now

Blood Is Blood And Death Is Death

Is this the blood
Of an enemy
Or is it blood
Of one of ours
I do not know
Blood is blood
And death is death

War is fought
At the beckoning
Of those that lead
Nations
And for these shouts
To to kill the other
The young and old
March out
To bleed
To die
To bleed
To kill

But
Blood is blood
And
Death is death
And every enemy
Breaths with human breath
Cries with human tears
And passes
Wishing for comfort
As a child
Wishes
For Mother

silence in my heart

When I see you
there is a silence in my heart
as if the very blood
Must stand in awe

Stained

And the blood
it stained her neck
And the tears
they stained her heart
And the night
it stained her soul

but for all the stains
at last she felt
vivid
full of color and life
at last

Honey Of Sleep

The dark honey of sleep
Cloyingly thick
Sweetly persuasive
beckons and suffocates
Yet dreams of you
Disturb this minor death
As I twist and drown
In your eyes
Two lakes of swords
Burn in your words
Oil cast on
the embers of our passion
So madness flies
Until I wake in sweat
that sticks to flesh like blood
Gasping your name
