light

Cheap red wine
and broken glass
digging
into
my fingers
blood stained prints
on clear blue glass
that never wash
the words away
I can't see
for all the light
that's shining
down my veins
Let me forget
the dance of loss
and let us
start to sing

upon the old and worn
the painted and the cracked
the concrete world
perched a goddess
a smile
to light chaos

The peach that bruises
with lightest touch
is sweet and cool
delight
which melts on tongue
to rejuvenate
flesh and flame of soul

In slumber of winter
this world dreams
Crystalline
It shatters and scatters light
To dazzle those left awake
To share its dream
In moonlight unhindered
by clouds
Upon the frost it writes
