Susie Are You Crazy

Susie are you insane?
Susie are you mad?
Susie are you crazy?
Susie are you sad?

Pace around your room now
Looking everywhere
Eyes are only mirrors
Drowning in despair

You're hiding from the sun
Darkness as a cloak
Wrapped around a body
Bent so hard it broke

Susie are you insane?
Susie are you mad?
Susie are you crazy?
Susie are you sad?

Wonder if they'll hear you
Speaking to the air
Wonder if they'll listen
Though there's no one there

Throw yourself to the floor
Scream into the boards
Drunk on filthy tears
These are your rewards

Susie are you insane?
Susie are you mad?
Susie are you crazy?
Susie are you sad?

Don't worry now it's clear
Don't worry now our dear
We'll put an end to pain
We'll put an end to fear

Just take this pretty pill
Then drink this nasty swill
And slip into a dream
Let warmth replace the chill

Susie you are insane?
Susie you are mad?
Susie you are crazy?
Susie you are sad?

Susie you are gone. . .

Angel Of Undoing

On wings of blood
she flies now,
the angel of
my undoing.
She scored her arms
and wings unfurled,
burgandy.
Wings that carried her
through my body
igniting nerves,
nerves that curled
like vines in fire.
She was pain
and now I am
nothing.

Gift

She burns a hole
Through the flesh of my heart
Slowly, slowly
A coal that drowns
In my blood
Igniting me
Extinguishing herself
As I grow bright
She dims
As I begin to live
She dies
My love awakens
And she is gone

The Last Riff

The last riff
in the blues ballad
echoes of her
With clarity like
glass on silk
catching flame from
candles on the next
table

Dream of those eyes
and weep
Dream of those lips
and scream
Dream of that body
and die

But it never mattered
because she never was
and that is all
of the truth there is
